  1. Detect and show bass note

It would be very useful to know the bass note that is played with a chord. E.g. C chord played with E as bass note, commonly notated as C/E.

We agree, the bass note (or chord inversion as it is also sometimes called) is very useful information. After some investigation, it appears this would be a very large undertaking. We have however been working on this and we hope to implement this soon. Stay tuned!

  2. Ability to pick out individual notes.

There's alot of instances in most songs where they play riffs that aren't chords. If the program had the ability to tell you what individual notes are played I think that would be extremely useful.

Not asking for it to be tabbed out for me, just what notes are used

    Maybe something like

[Bm Chord] then little notes like BCAD#AGb come after it showing the notes used

  3. What chords are it actually "finding"...

I get that it's a beta, but I played around with it and I'm not quite sure if the chords are coming from instruments or singing, especially when there's silence in the song and chords are shown to be playing. I figured one song it was picking up the bass, but later in the song it wasn't the bass chords anymore. It would be amazing if this program worked right, but now I'm just kind of confused.

Dear Laura (and 1 other supporter),
Thank you for your feedback. The chord recognition in Chordify is fully automatic and our algorithm does not “listen” to one instrument in particular. Hence, the chords are based on all instruments sounding at the same time. I’ll see whether I can write something about this on the about-chordify-page any time soon.

  4. Add a line number for chord lines

Add a line sequence number for chord lines. I copied all chords using screenprint. But it is difficult to aim chords on right sequence without any numbers. Line numbers would be very useful when you have the print option and a user communicates with a friend like "Look at chords in line nn"..

  7. Add an optional 3 second delay after hitting play

this way we have a chance to get on the guitar, so we can hit that first chord.

Dear Stephen, thank you for your feedback. I think this is a useful idea. We’ll consider implementing it. By the way, are you aware that you can use the spacebar for starting or stopping playback? This makes controlling the site easier when holding a guitar.

Thanks for this suggestion. It is indeed a useful idea, but difficult to combine with the remainder of the technology on our site. We rely on automatic transcription of the chords from youtube or other audio, but it is not yet possible to automatically transcribe lyrics. If we want to show lyrics, we should get them from some other source. Hence, I do not think we will support lyrics in the near future. However, youtube features a lot of songs with lyrics. If you chordify these you have your synchronised lyrcis on the side.

    -Update-
We are actively looking into ways of incorporating lyrics to our player. More info on this soon!

    -Update- 22/02/2018
Unfortunately we are still working out the legalities around displaying lyrics on our website, as lyrics are copyrighted content. We hope to eventually be able to offer lyrics to our users, but it’s unclear…

  10. display the confidence in each chord estimation (eg with a color scale), whenever possible

This way it is easy to avoid playing the most inconsistent ones
